"Jack Hirschman was born in New York City in 1933. He has published more than 70 books and chapbooks of poems and translations from eight languages. Jack is also a correspondent for the 'People's Tribune', a revolutionary newspaper. His Arcanes are longer poems of process development and dialectics around themes of injustice." --Back cover. Hirschman was an activist, scholar and poet laureate of San Francisco from 2006-2008. Before he left academia for San Francisco and the life of a prolaterian poet, one of his early students was Jim Morrison.
