Diagrams, photographs and descriptions show the meticulous art of tatting. Part of the D.M.C. Library, manufacturer of cotton, flax, silk, rayon and nylon. "Our volume consists of an explanatory section illustrated by 25 figures, to which are added 8 plates containing full size illustrations of 38 designs, accompanied by detailed instructions for working them. This peculiarly delicate character of this lace renders it unsuitable for the composition of large motifs. Our examples, of great fineness, are composed of rings and scallops of various sizes, well proportioned and harmoniously arranged." --Introduction
