See photos. // Graciela Amaya de García (1895–1995), was a pioneering Honduran labor organizer, educator, and feminist whose activism spanned Central America. After being exiled from Honduras in the 1920s for her involvement in leftist movements, she settled in El Salvador, where she co-founded the Communist Party of El Salvador and played a key role in organizing teachers and workers. García was a vocal advocate for women’s rights and labor reforms, emphasizing education as a tool for social change.
