This second edition appears to be considerably scarcer than the first. The work is purported to be the first work on Mexico written by a woman. Comprises fifty-four letters written while she was in Mexico; describes politics, people, and geography. The work has been regarded as significant due to its influence as well as its status as the only (and perhaps first) 19th century travel account of Mexico written by a woman, the wife of the Spanish Minister to Mexico.
