Ink stamp to front free endpaper reads: "Compliments of Chas. H. Baker" Near fine (appears unread) with nominal shelfwear to exterior. Tight and clean within. Small personal library bookplate and onwer name hand-writted to front free endpaper: J. W. Clise. Hardcover.

A truly rare book in this original edition. Only three hundred copies printed, as stated. Numerous b&w photoplates of histoprical note, printed on coated stock plates. Written by Baker's son. William Taylor Baker was a successful accountant in Chicago, and later President of the Chicago Board of Trade and President of the 1893 Chicago World's Fair, properly known as the World's Columbia Exposition.
