The paintings are mounted on sheets that are, in turn, mounted on the verso of the strip at pages [9], [11], [13], [15] and [17], which contain cutouts (10 x 14 cm), serving as mats. Small accordion folding booklet laid in. Issued unbound; inserted in grayish-pink handmade paper covers with title and author's name worked into the pulp. Housed in brown cloth-covered clamshell box with grayish pink paper spine label. Note: Small dark 'stain'-seeming mark to wrapper left edge is end-portion of "n' from Merwin's name on front wrapper panel. Mild spotting to box front panel. "This edition ... was hand printed on Lana Gravure paper in an edition limited to 20 numbered copies by Carol Sturm and Douglas Wolf. Each book contains 5 original paintings and a hand painted title page by Mark Schwartz. The cover wrappers were specially made at the Dieu Donné Papermill by Paul Wong.
