In Spanish. Scarce. Handmade books. "A type of paper art created by the Otomi people of Mexico. This art form involves creating intricate designs on bark paper using bright colors and traditional patterns. Bark paper, also known as Amate paper, is made from the bark of the fig and mulberry trees and has been used for centuries by the Otomi people for painting and writing. In addition to bark paper, the Otomi people also create magic bark books or "codices." These books are handmade and contain traditional Otomi symbols, stories, and information about their culture and history. They are made by folding the bark paper and tying it together with string, and then the designs and symbols are painted on the pages using natural dyes and pigments."
