Rooted in late–Qing and early Republican political culture, Young China promoted moral regeneration, national revival, and resistance to foreign domination, framing “youth” as the ethical vanguard of China’s future. Its survival and rebirth in the overseas Chinese world reflect the continuity of this ideology beyond the mainland. In a Taiwanese and émigré context, the book is significant as a diasporic archive of Chinese republican memory, maintained abroad during periods of rupture on both the mainland and the island. Produced in a limited, non-commercial print run and distributed within overseas Chinese networks, thi slarge illustrated volume functions less as a celebratory souvenir than as an assertion of historical legitimacy and political lineage. An important document of how Taiwanese-linked émigré communities in 1960 understood themselves as custodians of a revolutionary tradition originating in 1910 and carried forward in exile.| Chinese California, Chinese, Chinese California, Chinois Californie Chinese, Young China, San Francisco
