Rooted in late–Qing and early Republican political culture, Young China promoted moral regeneration, national revival, and resistance to foreign domination, framing “youth” as the ethical vanguard of China’s future. Its survival and rebirth in the overseas Chinese world reflect the continuity of this ideology beyond the mainland.In a Taiwanese and émigré context, the book is significant as a diasporic archive of Chinese republican memory, maintained abroad during periods of rupture on both the mainland and the island.
