Maurice McDonald or “Mort,” was a poet associated with the countercultural literary scene of the late 1960s and early 1970s USA. This work, his most notable, is reminiscent of Richard Brautigan; their writings share a certain absurdist humor ,simplicity, surrealism and, at times, countercultural critique. Poetry of the hippie era. Alternative culture; small press, California. // Some of these poems appeared in Golliard
